Tsunamis are bad for anyone's health. I thought they had to be at least 30 feet to be called a tsunami? I was shocked when I first heard about it.(Kenryo told me) I don't watch a lot of news so I heard it from him first. Man I can't imagine standing in front of something that high that could bring death knocking on my front door. I am glad that I don't live too close to big bodies of water. I still feel sad for all the people that lost someone. I really can't thympasize with anyone because I'm not always the emothional type. I hope something like this doesn't happen again though. The world is losing a lot of people lately. First 9-11, the war (I am not completely mad about the war but it's still pretty hard especially if you know someone in the war), and now this. THe world is crazy.

It really was a terrible disaster, the worst I've ever seen. My thoughts are with the people affected. :(

the last time I heard it was 150,000. They will never really know because sharks have been tearing bodies apart. Plus not all of the people are going to be in the area because of the current's effects. It is one of the worst tsunamis for about 50 years. The earthquake that caused it was registered at 9.0 on the ricter scale. Many people know that a tsunami is a large tidal wave but some people don't know that a tsunami is actually caused by an underwater earthquake. Plus there hasn't been an earthquake in supposedly 400 years around that area of the world. For a lot of people they didn't have much time to escape because of the speed of the tsunami coming in at such a fast rate. Really the only possibility to get away from them was in a fast car.
I live in america and I am grateful for still being alive today because other people haven't been so lucky. People have lost family members and families have died from this one disaster alone. This has killed a lot more people than previous disasters. Even the world was effected because it was said as to have been tipped on it's axis just slightly. So the days are supposedly changing by a fragment of a second. It may not be a big change now but in the years ahead it could have a major effect. I hope this has informed people on things they haven't heard on the news.

Everyone who thought the 9/11/01 death toll was bad, this is about 10 to 100 times worse.

Screw 9/11/01, the day that no one should forget should be 12/26/04

No you should remember 9/11 but an even more critical accident with the tunamis should come before 9/11. Does anyone agree?
