People of Lufia World, what's your age?

Postby SinReVi » Fri Aug 14, 2015 1:36 pm

Inspired by Chris mentioning he was nearly in his 30's here viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1420710 =P

I joined Lufia World just about 3 weeks after my 13th birthday... (and I joined Lufia.net on the same day too =P ) Though I actually made my first posts as a guest when I was probably still 12 =P *suddenly feels old* I'm turning 25 this year.

remember this, when someone gets you down, fight back, when a girl breaks up with you, move on and look to the future, when you cant get a date for the prom then your not the only one.

Of course it's okay! Welcome to Lufia World!
I joined lufia.net when I was 13. I guess I joined here a month later or so. So yeah, 13. And now I'm 25, after being nurtured to adolescence here!

Also, Sinrevi, your profile said you joined on January 2nd. That's not your birthday...

Welp, welcome to my world every day. I'm a 30-year-old video game fanatic and fanfiction writer. My youngest brother turned 23 this year. Someone I know called Lufia 2 a 'retro rpg' last year and I was about to say to them that that's not true until I saw when Lufia 2 was released.

...And let's not forget that I'm closer to Lexis' age than Maxim's

I guess when I see the poll results, I feel young again XD (I know there are members that are younger than me on here though)

When I see Lufia fans online that are younger (like still currently in their teens) I can't help but wonder how they were introduced to Lufia. Checking out retro games? Introduced by Lufia DS? Perhaps they first watched older siblings playing Lufia when they were young?

I am now Guy's age. *remembers I once made a list of Lufia character ages*

That means you're a perfect case study! How did you get introduced to Lufia, Terry?

I stumbled upon the Lufia II soundtrack on YouTube one day. Some days later, I listened to the first game's soundtrack. Eventually I listened to the OST for The Legend Returns. Recently I've listened to Curse of the Sinistrals' OST. I'm afraid that I'm essentially a Lufia music fan as I haven't actually played any of the games yet...

You should play the games, too! They are amazing, really, they are! I'd suggest starting with Lufia 2, though. It is, I believe, the first in the Lufia timeline. (Don't play Lufia DS first. Lufia 2 is way more epic. Like, way.)

I actually disagree. For me, the power of the story is in the fact that it's in a chronically different order. First, you have Lufia I where you're constantly given insights to a battle of a long time ago and you keep wondering what happened there. Then in Lufia II, you actually play through that battle! You know how it's going to end, but you keep wondering how the story will get to that end. For me, that order is what made the storytelling so brilliant.

It's such a pity that gameplay-wise, Lufia II is much more interesting. I actually think they should've remade Lufia I, that story deserved a second chance at being told.

...You present an interesting case. I bow to that.

One of my favorite let's-players, hcbailly, played Lufia I first and Lufia II after, and he did enjoy that order as well, so I guess you have an excellent point, Guard Daos! (...Did I already mention Guard Daos is the greatest boss ever?)

And I agree about Lufia I, that story deserved its second chance as well! (though I'm not really sad they remade Lufia II)
