Iris Treasures

Postby TSR » Wed Nov 09, 2005 4:15 am

First off I'd like to apologize, as I'm sure that this topic has been discussed ad nauseum but I searched the forums and just couldn't find the answer.

So what is the point of collecting all of the Iris Treasures from the Ancient Dungeon in Lufia II? I've heard so many different explanations from so many different people that it is not even funny but most seem to come from way out in left field and I just can't get a concensus.

Did the gamemakers actually go through the work of creating all 10 Iris treasures, have you spend countless hours of your life and dozens of trips into the dungeon trying to find each and every last one of them, just to have them put on display by some flaky basement woman and absolutely, positively do nothing else?

Tell me it ain't so.

:(

The point of collecting all the iris treasures is...

....nothing!

It was back in the days where people thought something might have happened with the rainbow door on Doom Island, but nothing happens there, either.

But I always heard there was SOME kind of door that served no purpose whatsoever.

In "The final" room (you'll recognise it when you finished the game), there's another closed door at the top of the screen. However, it never opens, as reli has btw proven by extracting the ingame paths, where you can walk and where not. Doors would be objects, but there's just a wall where the door should be. Sorry... :)

It doesn't look anywhere near a rainbow door, though.

As soon as Anthony said something I knew exactly what he was talking about, I always wondered about that. :/

The Iris Treasures do have a purpose, but not an ingame one. Getting all of them entitles you to bragging rights among the Ancient Cave experts.
