Lufia: The Ruins of Lore....worth it?

Postby Fallen » Fri Mar 03, 2006 10:00 pm

Hey all, just a random lufia fan with a quick question. Would you say RoL is worth playing? Seeing how the storyline is the only one that doesn't involve sinistrals and the kid doesn't have red hair...I'm a bit skeptical. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Hmm, I didn't really like it. Barely felt like a Lufia game.

Doh, that's what I was worried about. Oh well I guess, here's hoping the next Lufia title is a success...thanks for the info!

I think its a great game, but its not Lufia great. The sinistrals aren't in it, so its disappointing to lufia fans "I almost cried when I found out". But if you put that aside, its a good game.

It's playable, if you like Lufia that much you might like it, I however am convinced that it's Satan in the form of a game.

Well put, Kei. I haven't played it myself, but a Lufia game with no sinistral plot is not a Lufia game, but an insult to Lufia.

Lufia RoL is a good game, but it doesn't give you a Lufia feeling like the first three games.

I never played the first three, but I love this game: Ruins of Lore. It gives a pretty good storyline for people who aren't familiar with Lufia. Plus, I think this game has pretty good graphics and music, kinda gets you pumped up. However, it can be a pain in the ass if you don't have an emulator since you can't save constantly (the biggest edge) and speed things up (saves countless hours spent playing).
I give this game five out of five stars, but it can get tedious at first since you have to go place from place. The land of the undead is pretty creepy cause of the girl's spirit haunting the entire place.

If you have emulation, you need to play the other 3. They are far superior, storyline wise.

If you've loved RoL, then you will be CRAVING once you get the Lufia games that are actually good. Start with Lufia I or II, for SNES. (Lufia II takes place chronologically before Lufia I)

this is the one where you get to decide your own job and stuff like that? well I find it really good... but as said, not really a Lufia game... would be a great plot for another Lufia game tho?
I used to be intelligent, education ruined me.
