Lufia: Ruins of Lore (How to beat the Big Red Jelly)

Postby War.Dawg » Wed Mar 08, 2006 8:45 pm

What is the best monster you can take to the Ancient Cave? Also, best job for this?

I used the Lamia monster for support in the battles because I gave her rapidfire, cacophony, and leech. It does huge damage, but it doesn't want to use the skill leech often. Plus, I picked the swordsman for the job, but I still can't kill the Big Red Jelly. I used the Rune Ring + Mirror (for cover for both the monster and me) + Miracle Hit + Fury. He's too tough to kill. :?

I suggest to catch a Gold Core in the last dungeon, it has VERY VERY VERY high defense. Put the Gold Core on the left.
Cast Mirror on yourself when you need to.

BTW what is Eldin's level? Maybe you need to level-up a little bit more...

Well, he's level 30, but the mermaid is lvl 32. We do equivalent damage of 320 with high armor around 300. I think I found some GameShark Codes, but I don't know how to input them. PLus, I don't think Gold Cores do that much damage like Lamia. She literally eats all the monsters plus bosses if she does leech/rapidfire/cacophony(reduces 100-150 armor compared to Sap Suds 50 armor).

I need any responses ASAP! I am trying to create an uber combination. Plus, what's the best skill for a monster? Giant Stomp? RapidFire?

When I beat him, Eldin was between LV35 and LV 40 I think. Don't rely too much on your DM. The Jelly has 4000 Hp, so using Chance Hit might help... (hit is 20-200, or with critical hit to 400)

As for monsters... Angelic Melody (15 AP) might help. Muse learns it. You can catch it in the later floors of the Ancient Cave or you can go into Lugwa Tower and catch a Holiner and let it evolve, and then wait until he learns Angelic Melody.

Do you still have your saved games? if you do, can you send attachments of it? So, I can see what's going on from your perspective?

It heals a lot HP for all party members (800?).

Teach your DM the skill. Make him use it in battle, remove the other two skills, so your DM will only use Angelic Melody.
you'll be fine as long as your DM has enough HP to survive the attacks of the jelly, until your DM's AP runs out. (This is also a good technique to defeat the last two bosses of the game :P)

I beat the Ancient Cave a few years ago on my cartridge, so I can't send you anything.

I already have a skill called heal all for my DM. I can switch to that but it costs 40 AP.

Cheats>Cheatlist>Game Shark> (enter codes) >ok

I think you have to disable the cheats, and then enable them again.

I tried that and I am not seeing anything in my inventory. So, I input the codes under GAme shark. So, I have 3 lines of codes. Then, I hit disable then enable then hit ok. I go under Equip, but there is no swords to arm them with.... ARGH!

Hmmm.... Did you enter the codes when you were in the Item menu? Or any menu? Try using it outside any of the menus.
