What are you using to make the game? a program? or coding from scratch?

Another Day,

Here I sit on another computer. I'm still trying to revive the poor ASUS EEE.

The game is being made on a program. I'm not going to say which, but I'm sure some of you already know. Though, it won't be RPG Maker.

More like "Final Fantasy"? As interesting as it sounds I hope you make it something worth breaking the tradition.

ya see theres always one or two guys that are like yeah ima make the next lufia, but i think what we really need is for a bunch of us programmers and game developers here at lufia world to combine our efforts and create the greatest lufia fan game ever.

I agree! Totaly! But be careful revealing it to the public or on sites like YOUtube. I don't know if this is confirmed or not but I heard Enix bought out the Estopolis franchise after RoL. Then Enix merged with Square to make Square Enix. A big company like Square Enix is sure to be a sue happy bunch of pricks almost as bad as SEGA. Have anyone heard of Chrono Rebirth?

What would even be better if out of the blue the original staff of the Lufia series agreed to help us, but that's a infinitesimal chance.

RPG Maker is a little overrated, but does the job. I'm looking forward to buying RPGMK XP later to make my Estopolis Tactics game come true (if not then I'll just use Game Maker). I have a beautiful story and gameplay layout for a 3D Lufia game on Wii (or at least played with the Wii controler's motion sensor). I thought about calling it Lufia V then I realized: OH CRAP! FIVE IS ALMOST HERE!!! Lufia VI is still on it's way. I would probably call mine Lufia Wii for now because calling it Lufia VII is just asking for a copyright violation.

I still wouldn't mind knowing what software you're using Brad. lol[/quote]

The Lufia franchise rights are owned under Taito, SquareEnix bought majority stock in that company and now owns them.

The idea of all the fans coming together to make one big lufia project is very utopian. It might be able to happen but I want to play Fan games that will show us the certain emotions the develpers thought were the most important when they played Lufia once apon a time.

I hate to say this but my computer is STILL dead. I need to restart everything on another older computer, all this still trying to reach that July 20th release date. Bare with me.

Keep in mind, the release will be a DEMO on July 20th, I'm sorry if I didn't make that clear before.

I'm going to tell you right now, the game is going to look worse than any other lufia game, but you'll be able to feel the amount of work/spirit that was put into it, once you play it.

LUFIA IV?

Postby TheBradshaw » Wed Jul 30, 2008 4:33 am

Short answer: No

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, July 20th 2008 has passed and there's no demo to be found. And believe me, I'm dissappointed too.

I've lost 3 computers to the development of this game, and lost the game program itself twice. It's not fun. The game has cost me over 800 dollars so far (computer and programs)- I'M SERIOUS.

So is the game canceled? No.

I'm not going to rush this out, but I'm STILL working on something. stay tooned for trailer

RPG Maker definitely isn't bad... but there definitely are some things I would prefer to have but don't. The battle system I think is the worst part, but it's not too bad... The hardest problem is getting sprites (unless you're a spriter). I actually don't have a paid copy of RMXP myself, but I'm going to try and get one later (I only have the free trial... like that's going to last long).

As far as Square Enix owning the Lufia franchise goes... I personally believe that's the case, but Squaresoft merged into Enix a while ago, as I recall. Within the past few years, Square Enix bought out Taito (I remember seeing this on Gamespot), which owns the Lufia franchise, so effectively, Square Enix now owns Lufia, too. Someone else already mentioned this, but I figured I'd explain it in more detail.

Hmm... Sounds interesting, but I really want to see an official game done. Fan games don't hurt anything, especially if they are done well, but in my opinion they don't do justice compared to an actual official game.
