Pick Scenes from Lufia I & II to be animated

Postby DarkMaster2101 » Thu Oct 16, 2008 10:38 pm

Edited on November 24th, 2008 to include latest picks

Due to the obvious limitations of the Nintendo DSi I was wondering...

If they ever do come out with Lufia I & II DS, which scenes from either game would you want to be animated?

Remember, around 5-9 key events for both games at most! These movies do not include post-game stories: Memory of Regret for Lufia I and Survivor's Story for Lufia II. Gift mode will not have cinematic scenes unless it's a congratulations screen at the end.

Cut scenes will have voice acting. Hurray! Well, let's get started! Here's some obvious entries for the game:

---Scenes in both games---

Age of Beginnings: Lufia I & II opening cinema
*Prologue with Excerion flying into Doom Island (Lufia I includes intro)
*Sinistral circle surge, Selan and Maxim are left behind (Lufia II includes slightly extended video)

---Lufia and the Fortress of Doom---

The Hero meets Lufia (opening version)
Gades the Destroyer, Sinistrals revive!
Monster Pirates!? Meet Commander Aguro!
Pick-pocketed by a kid.
Jerin!? She's just a child!
Priphea bloom

GuardDaos wrote:The scene in the underwater Fortress of Doom...

"Let's make new memories," end game scenes and credits
(I'll try to bump it up to around 8-9 ish without the spoiler scenes)

OMG SPOILERS!!!

---Lufia and the Fortress of Doom: Memory of Regret scenes---
Fly to Parcelyte, Wedding Crashed
A ghost of our savior haunts her
"You may kiss the bride"
Lufia I Rebirth staff credits

---END of LIST---

---Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals---

The opening scene of Lufia II
Maxim dines with Tia
[Insert title for presentation of Guy]
[Insert title for presentation of Selan]
[Insert title for presentation of Dekar]

Rezic wrote:Gordy Gades defeats the party

Maxim's and Selan's wedding Day

Dark Maxim wrote:Dekar's fall. He's a rad dude, he deserves one last cutscene.

Rezic wrote:Presentation of the Motor

[Insert title for presentation of Artea]
Why Dual Blade? Dare you betray Daos?

Dark Maxim wrote:The ending? I mean, it's the end, why not animate it?

("My Beloved..." how could I forget about this one!?)

(I wish I could animate them all, but I have to be wary that animation consumes time and money.)

OMG SPOILERS!!!

---Lufia II: Survivor's Quest---
Tia Journeys; Dekar Joins
The Enigma, shipwrecked...
Enter Wavespace
Fall of the Wraith of Doom! Erim slumbers for the century.
Lufia II rebirth staff credits

---END of List---

*Videos will virtually be the same in both games except modified depending on which game.

Let me know if you have any suggestions.

You left out the most important scene in Lufia I!
The scene in the underwater Fortress of Doom...
WHICH SHOCKED ME FOR LIFE!

By the way, I wouldn't call the Gratze scene that important...
And maybe Lufia's Betrayal.

Scenes of Lufia II to be animated?

Scratch out at the Gordovan West Tower battle with Gades, and animate Gades destroying the whole party.
As already said, the wedding day, certainly.
Dekar showing up to save the day out the front of the Portravia Lab when the AirShip is just made.
Dekar sacrificing himself so that Iris can rescue Guy, Selan and Maxim from the crumbling dungeon [I forget which one it was].

God. There's so many.

Why? If you cheat you can get Gades' Blade.

Cheat? You don't have to cheat to do it. =) Just be awfully patient, and hella tactiful.

But, it's really not worth it. Sure, the Gades Sword was a nice toy for so low. But jesus.

Oh, and put more emphasis on the Tarantula! For such a hard boss, you'd expect a bit more to it then just, "Tarantula shows up. Tarantual pwnz".

I don't know much of the scenes for any of the games but Lufia II...so I only have one list, in order of priority. (Oh, and the opening and ending scenes aren't included 'cause they're give-ins):

1. The Wedding (and following events)
2. Gordy Gades defeats the party
3. Bound Kingdom Invasion
4. Presentation of the Motor

I can't believe no one mentioned those last two yet! =P

but, realisticly...IF they made Lufia I/II they'd animate ALL the cutscenes.

It would be amazing if Square-Enix bought the rights, granted...they were competition back in the day...but still, so much beautiful high-def (on ps2)cutscenes...I'd cry with joy.

DS can only hold roughly 2-5 gigs of memory. Cutscenes take a LOT of space.

That's not a video game, that is an anime series.

Well what do you mean by animated then? Because any game I've played, the cutscenes are animated....actually now that I think of it....what else can a cutscene be? Do you mean going from normal graphics to higher def or what? And they're getting creative with cutscenes. Like in KH: CoM. Granted it didn't have sound...another way they could do it is two game chips...I wouldn't mind that. *shrugs*

Well, the thing is that the game is a remake. Sure we can animate the most important scenes, but still we have to worry about the memory of the Nintendo DS game card. Putting two games in one does not leave enough room for animated cut scenes.

Also the games RTP (run-time package) files in the card will take up a huge amount of space, especially for the game engine programs to run it.

A video game is still a video game. Also it's suppose to be a remake of the game. The movies will only enhance the experience of the most dramatic scenes. As will all remakes, we still have to keep that "classic" feel to the game. So most of the game will be told via in game cut scenes instead of animated movies.

Simplified, the game will have Anime movies.

Anime movies? Like the little scenes from things like Heroes of Mana where Roget's trying to jump off the darn airship?

My personal pick on scenes?

1) The first Gades fight. In the DS version, they're probably gonna make him truly invincible that time. Honestly, I'd rather see a cool video than get the Gades Blade. You can get that in the Ancient Cave...
2) Aftermath of second Gades fight (trying to sink Seim Island). You don't gain anything from it...okay, maybe a magic bikini, but why can't we change the point where you get the item to the little "summer" miniscene shortly after? Plus the scene would look great if you use some imagination.
3) Any POWER SWIRLS (sinistral, elf, etc)! Those would look so darn awesome animated.
4) Dekar's fall. He's a rad dude, he deserves one last cutscene.
5) The ending? I mean, it's the end, why not animate it?

Hmm.... it would have to be the scenes that actually shocked the player. Or showed a considerable amount of emotions. Hmm...

[edit]

err....what are the spoiler tags on these boards? I'm used to [spoiler] and [/spoiler] but those dont work here...

I just use a quote, with white text.

Fake spoiler - highlight to read

Arek is actually Foomy in disguise, and the Sinistrals eat Priphea for dinner and blablablah and Dekar is the King of Preamarl

end fake spoiler

Like that.

I see. Well I guess that can work too.

I would like to see the following scenes animated:

Karyn fighting off Amon
the destruction of Gordovan, Agurio, and Chaed, or the aftermath.
Dekar's sacrifice
The moment right after the sinistral battle
