Mention of Lufia on Natsume's Q&A

Postby SinReVi » Fri Apr 20, 2012 8:10 pm

Saw this on Natsume's Facebook page
Q: Among all the games you've put out over the years, which is/are your favorite/favorites? How about least favorite/favorites?

A: For me, I think my favorite was either Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny or Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals. Writing for villains is usually a lot more fun than writing for heroes, so taking characters like Pandora (well, not *really* a villain), the Masked Man, and Idura and bringing their maliciousness to life was extremely fun, and kind of lets you tap into a side of your personality you can't normally use. Least favorite game to work on? I wouldn't know! There's never a "least favorite" game here at Natsume! ;-)

So fans, do you agree with Adam's favourite?

I know a lot of entertaining villains tend to get a lot of buzz among fans. It helps that when you're writing for the heroes, you have to make their motives to save the world make sense in any way, so sometimes developers are limited to how they can write their dialog. Wheras villains seem to have a wider range of why they do the things they do in media, even accounting for anti-heroes.

Just how I've seen things over the years, at least in video games...
