ip skills

Postby rougeredmage » Fri Mar 12, 2004 1:05 pm

i was just wondering why they keep changing the nature of the ip skills as i personaly find it extremly anoying that every game they seem to change either the system of ip skills or what ip points do. i personaly belive the worst example of this is in lufia 4 where ip points where used to conbine with monsters this i did not like at all as i would personaly prefer specialised skills such as lufia 2 to fusing with a monster.

Lufia II had the best IP system, but I still thought fusing with monsters was quite fun too!

I personally like Lufia TLR's the best. I'm not sure if it's because of the way spiritual force ties in, but I was able to create some awesome battle strategies combining IP skills and taking advantage of SF.

Lufia IV completely butchered the IP system. Even funnier is how Bau and Dekar can gain IP, but have no way to use it. :P

I personally think that Lufia II's was the best IP system, though if all three were fused and combined with some of Final Fantasy Advanced Tatics, it would be part of the best battle system ever. Just my opinion.

I agree with DBAM on Lufia III's IP system.

Lufia II had you lose IP skills once you unequiped the armor, but Lufia III's IP system allowed you to keep any skills you learned.

It was also cool how you were penalized for misaligning your characters, since you would have to waste more IP that way.

i totaly agree with your, sentiments! Ip,skills, where almost; usless in':ROL.WHY? because the unpradictable nature! combinerd with lack of control! Lufia 2+3, abilty to tacticaly control battle. ROL = randomness.

<< i also agree with links to spritualisum and wave energy.>>

( dont encourage,me. its. a bad idea !! )

Well, that just added to the strategy. Do you equip the weapon with the higher attack, or do you keep the weapon with the awesome IP skill? Your call.

I was always more into attacking with weapons in Lufia II, but I did keep some good IP skills available to me.

While I only played Lufia III, I loved the the IP system in it. It was fun experimenting with all the powerful attacks. I based my entire strategy on IP skills in the later part of the game. Aima's energy punch and Deckard's God of the Sea were my favorites. If felt like it was their signature attacks for the two of them.

I also though that Lufia III's were good. You know how a lot of boss battle ARE NOT fun, like, your too worried you'll die and be sent back. In Lufia III I actually LIKED the boss battles, they were fun!

I think that the random dungeons ALMOST killed Lufia 3. However, if anything saved that game, it was the battle system, mainly the grid and IP. The grid especially, actually. Anyway, I really liked that game, the battle system is great. I think Lufia 2's would be a lot better if you could see a numberical value for your IP, and then be told how many points a skill took. That makes it more strategic, don't you think?

In the first part of this article series we covered the skills that a network security analyst should have in order to do their job properly.
