Final Fantasy - Dawn of Souls

Postby Eikaridu » Wed May 25, 2005 10:08 pm

Yup, that remake of two classic games all in one cartridge. I got this gem before my birthday and I must say I loved every bit of playing it! I spent most of my time playing the game then doing anything because of how addictive it is. I think I must've spent a lot of my sleep time playing it.

I decided to play FF1 first, then FF2 the next.

I had a few gripes with FF2. Instead of leveling up, you must use a skill alot or lose enough HP or MP to increase that stat. This was the one of the most annoying things about FF2.

Both games have been beaten, and the Soul of Rebirth quest as well.

My favorite game out of the DoS remake? FF1!

I must agree. The stat gain system in FF2 is a bit awkward at most. However, gaining maxHP is never really much of a problem because bosses will do massive amounts of damage anyway, so if you don't have a huge amount of MaxHP, you will after you're done fighting that boss.

Yeah, I literally spent the first two-three hours attacking myself to obtain more HP (wow...that sounded SO wrong ).

Thank god that system was not used again.

That would be a pain to try to 100% complete (I know how hard it is, I did it in FFI GBA and KH:COM so far).

I'm wondering if anyone has tried playing and beating FF1 with all White Mages. Perhaps that might be a challenge I could do when I'm not occupied trying to complete my current game, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles on Gamecube.

The people on GameFAQs have tried everything. Things like doing a ToS mania run using only one character and things like that are proof.

Hey did you get the ultima weapon in that wind cove dungeon thing. I have and let me tell you that weapon is VERY powerful, but then again you would have to beat the dungeon, and it takes a LONG time unless you know what to do.

How is that Crystal Chronicles game anyway? I'm a new fan of FF.

Well, it's really been a long while since I played the game, although I know it can start becoming tedious after a few game years... As far as I know I'm probably up to the 7th or 8th still...

Gonna have to get around to playing that game again when I feel the motive...

I thought that the level up system of FFII was an interesting twist to the RPGs I'm used to. It was awkward at first, but I got used to it quickly.
