As far as I know, it's just the same as the PS1 is to the PSX; Same capabilities, smaller design.

In the UK, Sony didn't make enough Slim PS2 consoles for the Xmas season, so most shops were out of stock for the weeks leading up to Christmas day. Instead of waiting, people went and purchased Xbox consoles... which Microsoft didn't expect (so they went out of stock too). The problem for my parents was that Phil was getting an Xbox for Christmas... after six weeks of trying, they couldn't get one, but thankfully Phil found one in a shop on the 27th, and it was bought for him.

I like stories. :)

Well duh people(not trying to be mean) it comes with online capabilities. I mean it is the same as the original but you don't have to worry about buying online stuff seperately plus it is cheaper(in a sense)

You might want to wait a while though because I have heard people at my school saying a chip is melting. I mean I don't see any cooling system on it. I also heard china was making a chip for it that wouldn't melt down but they ran out of business before it was perfected.
