Wind Waker 2

Postby Chris » Thu Sep 11, 2003 4:32 pm

I've heard this game is in development and will be using the cel shaded engine again. Anybody know anything else about it?

Yaaaaaay! More cel-shaded stuff! That stuff is so great!

[/sarcasm]

(Well... Wind WAker is okay but I think if there is a WW2 that it should be bumped to REAL graphics)

Keep the cel-shading. It brought soooo much needed emotion to the Zelda series.

I hope they'll make the puzzles harder. The ones in WW were a joke!

Honestly, I'll just let Nintendo make the decisions. They get it right 99% of the time!

I prefer real graphics - like the link on Soul Calibur 2 - I mean wow!

I suppose graphics isn't everything. But I would like there to be an overworld!

I'm still with real life graphics. Ocarina of time and majora mask graphics sorta like, only a big improvement. I hope they do anyway!

I can understand people wanting more realistic graphics for Wind Waker 2, I'm one of the people who would like it as well, but I think that the cel shaded engine gives the game some much needed emotion.
Shigeru Miyamoto said that this was how he envisioned Zelda and that if it were realistic that the amount of work on the emotion on the face would be enormous to get the same emotion across on a more cartoony Link.

The cel shaded graphics aren't all bad.
They gave the game a very smooth frame rate with huge draw distances and high quality textures with many effects (ie. distortions above a flame due to the heat) and the game looks like your playing in a very well made cartoon. So for the graphic style the game is done extremely well...but I still want a more realistic Link :P

I agree with you Shocker in everything you say! I guess making cartoony graphics is easier too (making development time shorter).

I'm sticking to what I said - real life graphics is way better than this cel-shaded graphic. Though quicker development must be an advantage...

You could always do a mixture of both... If anyone knows about the MMORPG in development by Blizzard, they are using a mixture of real graphics and cartoony graphics in a really nice mix. I like that stuff much more honestly.

I'm not done with WW either collecting the triforce maps is such a pain. I'm definately gonna buy WW2 tho. As for graphics, I do like less cartoony stuff, but the Wind Waker graphics did work well.
