Here's the news:

Panic at the Disco Breaking Up, According to Band's Web-site

Panic At The Disco is breaking up according to a post on the band's web-site. The Panic At The Disco break up is said to be taking place in order to allow the members to work on other projects. Panic At The Disco breaking up does not necessarily mean the end of the band though, as the

name could stay with the lead singer who remains behind. With Panic At The Disco breaking up, it also means that each of the members now has the opportunity to produce and release their own music. The biggest news about Panic At The Disco breaking up though, is that the creativity is going out the door with their lead guitarist leaving.

According to the Panic At The Disco web-site, it is Ryan Ross and Jon Walker that are leaving the group in order to "embark on a musical excursion of their own". This could mean that they are going to work as a duo, or it could just mean that they want to work on their own individual projects separate from the band. Ryan Ross is the lead guitarist for Panic At The Disco, while Jon Walker is the bassist of the group. They leave behind lead singer Brendon and drummer Spencer, who can still use the band name if they want to put out another release as Panic At The Disco. It is unclear how well they can do without their best song-writer though, but by keeping the lead vocalist, anything is possible.

Panic At The Disco released their debut album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out back in 2005, and had the album make it up to #13 on the Billboard Music charts. The album has sold over 2.2 million copies since the release, and helped lead to a lot of success from their sophomore release. In 2008, they released the album Pretty. Odd. which debuted at #2 on the Billboard charts. One of the hit songs on this album was Nine in the Afternoon, but most people will remember the biggest hit from Panic At The Disco as being I Write Sins Not Tragedies off their first album.
