i think time based is good too but your ganna need a good time like 20 seconds cause some players are just slow :wink:

I agree that time based is best for an MMORPG, though I'm not sure if my opinion matters at this point, looking at the time of the last post. Oh well, I guess that isn't important.
Am I really here or am I just a figment of your imagination? If you ever figure this out let me know... I'd be interested to find out.

The current system I have active now is turn-base but if the player doesn't choose a move within 15 seconds, he forfiets his turn. It is still a pain waiting those 15 seconds though.

Baten Kaitos has a smart system for this. It's turn based, with a maximum time limit,like you suggested. Just don't make the 15 seconds fixed, but let it vary depending on the level or class the character is. The higher the level, the lower the time limit is, making it harder to get the attacks right...

I´ve choosen the time-based turn, because its better for an online-game and the idea that its dependend on speed of the character and the weight of the armor and weapon is good (like in Lufia & the Fortress of Doom).
And so in the end of the world the Krazy_Kakadu_of_Chaos_and_Destruction
should rule the world and his worthless people.

time may be better for online but turn with a timer for passing if no responce in good
