Any Musicians?

Postby Rezic » Thu Oct 23, 2008 4:29 am

How many Musicians do we have in the house? If you are one then here are my questions for ya!

Whaddaya play?
How often?
What Genre?
How long have you been playing?

Be descriptive! For instance:

I play a 1981 Peavey T-60 Electric Guitar, I practice every chance I get, usually around three hours a day. I love to play anything from Classical (with heavy distortion w00t w00t) to Blues to Rock and Roll and occasionally some metal! But lately I've just been focusing on technique and chords.

Alright! who else? Also, please enjoy my extensive poll! =D

Can I vote for more than one? It would be much easier.

I can't compose, but I might be able to write song lyrics (English) if you need it.

I play piano... and keyboard (Hence the Lufia Keyboard thread :P).
I play video game music, jazz, and some J-Pop. I listen mainly to J-Pop, J-Rock and game music.

I play piano everyday... I like to record some of it (Hence the Lufia Keyboard thread :P), and I want to record some Lufia/Zelda music on piano, but I can't find my damn mic. That's the advantage of a keyboard... don't need a mic to record it. I prefer playing a real piano, though. It sounds better, and it feels better. That, and I'm better at playing the piano.

So anyway, I started piano lessons at the age of eight or something. So yeah, that pretty much sums it up.

I play anything you put in front of me, and I do it pretty exceptionally well. Picking up someone else's songs seems to be a hard point for me and I can feebly read music (I know theory and stuff, but I'm not use to reading it so it'd take me awhile to figure out a piece.)

My main thing is guitar. Les Paul 1976 Electric.

A lot of people seem to really enjoy me playing piano more so than anything else though. I write my own things. I like all genres.

As a true musician, you must learn to love everything; or at the very least be able to stand it.

ZOMG a '76 LP? Pics? Please? I love vintage stuff, 'especially 70s, granted, I like most 80s music better, but the "stuff" of the 50's-70's fasinates me...yeah I love nearly any kind of music, I just don't like much newer stuff... What's called hip hop today isn't hip hop (in my opinion). But it's not horrible...I guess the only reason I don't like it is because I hear it EVERYWEHRE.

And while I'm ranting, I may as well say this: What I hate the most about kids and their music today, is the fact that if a 14 year old picks up Guitar Hero 3, and plays "Through the Fire and Flames", "One" or "Paranoid" that some how makes them an expert on the band...I mention those 3 bands because seems like the only music guitar is good for to keep up with mainstream is metal. Okay I'm done. =P

Heh.... it'd be cool if we could actually record some instruments playing different parts of a Lufia theme... create our own LWF versions of Lufia themes.

That would be amazing. It would take quite a bit of effort eh? Anyone with experience with fruity loops or plays drums for percussion? :P
