DS rom help?

Postby mimi91chan » Fri Feb 26, 2010 6:57 pm

I know I know, I have Estpolis illegal. But I'll do that for now. When I have enough money, I'm going to buy the original version :)

I have a question about the rom. I've read you need a patch file in order to play the game. There was a small instruction that you must rename the rom to 'Estpolis.nds' and put the game and the patch in the same folder.

I did all of this, but I can't launch the patch, nor the game. I must be able to launch the patch, but my R4 doesn't even see there's a patch file in my folder. It only sees the .nds file :(

Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advantage!

Hm... did you give your patch the same name as the game? Estpolis.ips for example?

Uhm, I didn't. I'll try and see if that works :) Thanks for the suggestion!

Too bad, it didn't work out.

It seems my R4 sees the patch file as an unknown file type :S

Heh, sure. Hope that helps you out.

Edit: Looks like you posted a few seconds before I did. ;) Hm... maybe the R4 doesn't look for ips files the way my SNES emulator does. I believe there are programs for applying patches to roms, though. I'd do some Googling around if I were you. I think they're called patchers. Good luck!

Did you get my pm?

Adam wrote in the rules that it's forbidden to ask for roms but he didn't say anything about patches and how to get a rom to work...

Plus, Adam hasn't visited for many years, so I guess he's in the clear. ;P

Speaking of ROM help, does anyone know if there are any emulators out there that are capable of playing Estpolis DS? All the ones I've tried don't work.

Been playing the game on a emulator for a few days now. Can't get past the scene with the tank in the Gratze dungeon on the no$GBA emulator. Can anyone give me some pointers or tips on how to fix this problem? This forum seems to be the only place with an answer

Thing is, the owner/administrator doesnt put stuff like this in the rules because he wants to be a jerk (well, maybe he does, I dont know the guy), but because websites simply get taken down for even a simple question about roms on a game-specific site. It's "proof" for copyrightholders that the website allows roms to be used, even if they're not for download on that site.

And believe me, I have seen websites being taken down for that.
