What's currently in your...

Postby SinReVi » Mon Mar 19, 2012 3:17 pm

What's currently in your consoles/handhelds?
(feel free to add more consoles to your list)

SNES : Lufia II (Dutch)
N64: Star Fox 64. (Well, actually Lylat Wars since I own the European version)
Gamecube: Disc for the Gameboyplayer. (the gameboy player itself is currently empty =P )
PSP: Either Breath of Fire III or Trails in the Sky
3DS: Lufia Curse of the Sinistrals
DS (lite) : Rune Factory 3
GBA (SP) : Frontier Stories (CIMA The Enemy)
GBC: Lufia The Legend Returns
Wii: I always take the disc out after playing, but the last game I put in myself was Skyward Sword
PS3: Same story as the Wii, but the last game I put in was Rune Factory Tides of Destiny

SNES in the living room: Illusion of Time (this snes is actually my brother's, but since he rarely plays on it while I still often play snes games, I convinced my brother to move his snes to the bigger TV in the living room, instead of leaving it on his smaller TV)

Other stuff:
DVD Player: Same story as Wii and PS3, the last disc I put in was The Sound of Music.
Stereo: Ocarina of Time 3D Soundtrack

As I'm currently not at my home where I keep most of my consoles (I'm at college) I'll just list the last things I played on each system... or rather, the last game that I played via rom OR on the system.

SNES : Super Bomberman 1-5 (Trying to finish 5... but WOW is it hard!)
N64: Bomberman Hero (On virtual console)
Gamecube: Disc for the Gameboyplayer. (last game I played on it was Lufia: TLR
PSP: I have a PSP Go, but the last game I played on it was Ys VII
3DS: Tales of the Abyss (Red haired hero, joined by a blonde swordsman named Guy and a healer named Tear... sounds like Lufia to me!)
Vita: Mod Nation Racers: Road Trip
DSiXL : Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2
GBA (SP) : Lufia: Ruins of Lore >_>... still trying to just finish that game... but it hurts. (Rom)
GBC: Lufia The Legend Returns (Rom)
Wii: Mario Party 9
PS3: Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City <<< Currently playing right now

I just finished Tales of the Abyss... and wow.

I must say, I never thought the Tales series was worth looking into, but I absolutely LOVE this one, and I may be checking out the others sometime soon.

The story is somewhat similar to Lufia as well, which is something that really drew me in. A floating island... red haired hero... etc. I mean there is even a "Dual Blade" called "The Key of Lorelai" that uses "fonons" (energy waves) and focuses them.

Anyways, it is definitely worth checking out, especially now that it is on 3DS.

I got Tales of the Abyss some months ago, but haven't finished it yet because I also got some other games around the same time =P (birthday, christmas etc)
And then all my attention went to Zelda Skyward Sword instead of playing too many (new) games at the same time.
From what I played Tales of the Abyss is a good game.

I'm halfway through Skyward Sword... but I have this habit with EVERY 3D Zelda game -- I get REALLY into it, and then just get tired of it about half way through, and finish the game like 2 years later =P.

I just got Kid Icarus: Uprising - and beat it =P, and that was fantastic, the multiplayer is really fun too.

Its good to see a classic Nintendo character make a come back =), I hope to see more Kid Icarus games.

3DS: Kid Icarus: Uprising

Everything else: the same as in my first post.

As for more "connections" to Lufia, Tear's name is spelled the same as Tia in the Japanese version. Also, the name Gardios is spelled the same as Guard Daos' name in Japanese. (Dios being Daos' Japanese name) Actually, I wonder if it means something, after a quick search on Google I only saw stuff about Tales of the Abyss and Guard Daos from Lufia. (Okay, and someone who has Gardios as an username)

And another kind of connection to Lufia is that Motoi Sakuraba and Yasunori Shiono used to work together, both were part of the Sergent Wolf Band (the third member was Masaaki Uno), which made music for the games of Wolfteam.

I think then something happened and many people left the company and Wolfteam became the Namco Tales Studio.
Yasunori Shiono ended up working for Neverland Company instead, for Lufia I's soundtrack.
