Has anybody been hit by this virus? It's been on the news a lot over in the UK, but I haven't had a single e-mail containing SoBig.F. Yet.

Does the virus actually do anything except slow down mail servers?

Nope! I haven't had a virus since my Windows 98 system. :D

Sobig.F can slow down mail servers? Hmm... I don't think I've received it yet at my hotmail adress but everything is running perfect for me. :)

I don't use an address book normally anyway because of the virus threat (SoBig.F spreads via address book e-mail addresses).

Luckily my school only got hit by the Natchi antivirus. It created copies of itself, and eventually crashed the network. It took a good week for the computers to get back online.

You shouldn't open the attachments!

I live in the US... and besides >_> I don't really check my mail that often and never open up the attached files unless I know I attached them myself. (Don't ask)

I can't believe some people DO open attachements. There must be a lot for that virus to spread so much!

Maybe, maybe not, viruses can spread another way as well. Plus if it get's into the school servers, most teachers would probably open the attachment thinking that they are "safe" when in reality they aren't fomr copmuter viruses.

I have a special immunity though ^_^ I'm using 5 years ago technology with no more Hard drive space for things to spawn on it. Though I will hopefully be getting a bterr copmuter sometime >_>
